Rand over at Moz takes some time to debunk content marketing myths during anther Whiteboard Friday. Many marketers think of content as a form of “direct marketing” that needs to be blasted. Many won’t even consider the inbound marketing potential of the writing. Another big issue that content marketing has is the ability to attribute conversions. Usually it takes multiple interactions before a conversion will take place, and a nurtured lead might be converted through direct marketing. In that case, it’s very likely the direct marketing channel will be attributed with the conversion.
